THE DELIVERER giveaway winner

The Deliver Giveaway Winner!

Congrats to Maxie, the winner of my latest giveaway: the novel The Deliverer by award-winning author Kathi Macias. Maxie’s name was drawn randomly. She and many others wrote heart-felt blog comments about human trafficking.

Here’s a smattering:

“This subject matter is such that ‘many people are talking about it but nobody seems to do much about it.’ Is it because we are unbelieving that it could happen in our community or do we just cower in the presence of evil?” ~Darlene

“I appreciate so much the issues that Kathi tackles with such skill! I found it interesting that she always includes intercessors in her books. I didn’t realize that was planned for every book. When we read about these devastating things and think we can do nothing, we are wrong. We can intercede in prayer all the time!” ~Lanita

“As a teacher my heart pours out to innocent children and the sins they have to endure from others.” ~Deanna

” It breaks your heart to read of such evil, and, especially that so much of it goes on right around us, here in America. Kathi is a great author, and an inspiring person. May GOD continue to bless her and her work to try to right such horrible happenings. I pray that great things happen from from her caring, and writing these books. I now need to read her other books to this series!” ~Maxie

If you’d like to get a copy of Kathi’s book, visit your favorite Christian bookstore or bop over to Amazon and get the paperback or ebook delivered to your Kindle.

book winner! and other news!

I’m pleased to announce the winner of the latest book giveaway. 🙂

Her name is Tammy and she gets Jack Watt’s amazing book, “Hi, My Name Is Jack: One Man’s Story of the Tumultuous Road to Sobriety and a Changed Life.”

Here is her comment on the blog post here at Refills, Sharing Cups of Comfort, Truth, and Comfort with Women and the Leaders Who Serve Them: “I was just about ready to listen to this interview, when the phone ring, it was my son. He has been struggling with alcoholism for a few years, at least to my knowledge. I hope to listen to it from the archives. I need more understanding. In His Grace~Tammy”

You can read the post here and listen to the archived radio show here. (The archived radio show is the first one listed.)

Do you want to know more about Jack’s scrupulously honest account of alcoholism and how he found his way out? Check out Jack’s website here.

And Other News!

~ A BREAK: I’m taking a break from my online radio show to free up time to finish my book, Refills!, due out this spring. I’ll let you know when I’m back on the air.

~ MORE TRAINING: I’m getting additional training in biblical counseling through the Association of Biblical Counseling (ABC), leading to certification as a biblical counselor, and I’m so excited and humbled. While I already have a diploma is pastoral care to women from Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon, God tugged at my heart to delve deeper into speaking the truth in love to hurting Christian women and families. My church graciously paid for half of my tuition. (Thank you, Grace Life Church of Sycamore, Illinois!) ABC has been endorsed b by Joni Eareckson Tada, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, John MacArthur, Martha Peace, Mark Driscoll, and many other pastors, professors, authors, and preachers.

~ FOR YOU: In the coming weeks and months, you’ll notice a slight shift in my blog posts toward more encouragement from God’s Word (the Bible) in facing your struggles and finding joy on the journey.

QUESTION: If you’d like me to pray for you, please send me a prayer request, which will be kept confidential. God Bless YOU!

funny friday photo caption!

“Keep your eye on the prize, for the only crown that truly glitters is the one you get to keep forever.” –Carrie Prejean

Time for another photo caption contest.

The winner will receive former Miss California Carrie Prejean’s Still Standing, The Untold Story of my Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks. Carrie went from being a likely winner to a sure loser because she dared to honestly answer a question on marriage. She says marriage is a sacred bond between one man and one woman. How politically uncorrect and God honoring!

Here are the rules, simple and sweet.

1. Write a caption for the photo in Comments.

2. Subscribe to this blog by email if you haven’t already. I promise I won’t spam you!

3. Do one and two by April 9. That gives you a week. . .you might as well write the caption now. 🙂

How I decide the winner: the highly unscientific giggle test. In case of two or more “giggle” captions, I put the names on slips of paper, ball them up, toss them into the air and whichever I open first, wins. As I said, highly unscientific. On your mark, get set. . .your book is waiting.

Blessings and blessings!
